Just a couple of weeks ago, in mid-June, right before the summer officially started, SAP Startup Focus took off to the beautiful Parisian city… And we had great weather but also a packed schedule!
On the 13th June, the SAP France offices in Levallois-Perret (Paris) opened its doors to host the pre-launch of the 1st edition of the Startup Guide Paris. The latter conveys how Paris is not only the city of love, but also home to a progressively rising tech scene, very interesting innovation and and the soon-to-open world’s biggest startup campus, Station F.
Two days later, on the 15th of June, in tight collaboration between SAP Startup Focus, Sodexo and JCDecaux and Startup Everywhere we’ve kicked off the Startup Guide Paris launch week, with the formal launch of the book taking place in multiple locations during the Viva Technology 2017 summit.
Viva Tech is a three-day summit that is becoming one of the networking hubs for the world’s innovators, tech-lovers and pioneers of the future. This year, Viva Tech welcomed dozens of thousands attendees from around the world, including 5,000 startups and over 1,000 investors. There was an intensive agenda with multiple presentations and panels running in parallel, overall involving around 400 speakers.
I was honored to moderate a panel on the opportunities that Big data and Artificial Intelligence generate in a connected world and how these reshape our expectations for intelligent ways of living. The panelists included representatives from companies Valeo (France), Treasure Data (Japan) and Carto (USA).
SAP France invested strongly in prove the value for SAP to showcase at Viva Tech.
Together with SAP Startup Focus the team was delighted to host the showcase of Indigo Media, a promising program member, with their IoT for retail solution: Indigo Connected Retail. The solution allows retailers, brands and spaces to transform and drive their customers’ experience in a completely personalized and interactive way, bringing the concept of “machine-human” interaction to a completely new level. In practice, the solution provides means for retailers to have access to do deep analysis of their product performance and thus, to be able to better control their campaigns in real-time. And there is no doubt that they impressed the audience.
We were sorry that Mr Macron has missed us on his tour of the event. But we were heavily honored to get executive attention from the SAP regional President, Angela Mazza and many others.
There were very good conversations going on with very interesting, mostly French, startups. SAP Startup Focus will be looking forward to seeing some of these leveraging the potential that SAP’s technology can bring their use case.
Merci de l’accueil Paris!
See you NEXT YEAR VIVATECH!
